By ROAD:

We are easily accessible from the M1 Junctions 13 & 14, the A1 and the A6.

If you are driving from the South, East and West: You will come through Bedford. Clapham is the first village North of Bedford off the A6 (signposted towards Kettering)

If you are booked into the campsites or hotels in Clapham village use the (old) A6. From Bedford, enter Clapham on the OLD A6. Proceed North, past the shops along Clapham High Street, until the roundabout. Take the 3rd exit for Twinwood Road. Proceed along Twinwood Rd for ½ mile until you hit woodland and turn right to Twinwood Arena & Glenn Miller Museum. (If you arrive at a military-looking area, this is Yarlswood IDC and you have gone too far).

Otherwise, use the (new) A6, Clapham Bypass to get to Twinwood Arena: From Bedford, enter the A6 Clapham bypass, take the 1 st slip road & follow the signs to Clapham. You will enter Clapham at the T- junction with the Fox & Hounds Pub on your left and the Spar shop on your right. Turn LEFT here. Then at the roundabout take the third exit for Twinwood Road. Proceed along Twinwood Rd for ½ mile until the woodland and turn right to Twinwood Arena & Glenn Miller Museum. (If you arrive at a military-looking area, this is Yarlswood IDC and you have gone too far).

If you are driving from the North: Follow the A6 towards Bedford. After the village of Milton Ernest, take the slip road signposted towards Clapham. Go straight over the roundabout and down the hill. At the next roundabout take the 1 st exit for Twinwood Road. Proceed along Twinwood Rd for ½ mile until the woodland and turn right to Twinwood Arena & Glenn Miller Museum.

By RAIL:
Bedford Train Station is on the Midland Mainline and First Capital Connect (formerly Thameslink) lines. Bedford Station is 3 miles from Twinwood Airfield, and it is advised to take a taxi from the Station to reach Twinwood Airfield. (If you are fit enough, by bringing a bicycle on the train, you can cycle to Twinwood. Note - most train operators welcome cycles, but some have time restrictions please check)

By BUS:
Bedford Bus Station is serviced by Stagecoach www.stagecoachbus.com/bedford The X5 bus connects Bedford to Milton Keynes Coachway. From Milton Keynes, the National Express www.nationalexpress.com bus service operates, meaning that it is possible to reach Bedford from most locations.

The Stagecoach, No. 51 bus from Bedford to Clapham runs every 20 minutes, HOWEVER Twinwood Airfield is 1¾ miles outside the village and is an uphill walk. (It may prove easier to catch a taxi from Bedford Bus Station.)

By AIR:
Luton Airport : First Capital Connect (formerly Thameslink) & Midland Mainline trains run direct to Bedford Station. (journey around 30 minutes)

Heathrow Airport : Take the Piccadilly line from Heathrow to London Kings Cross, and connect to First Capital Connect (formerly Thameslink) or Midland Mainline trains to Bedford Station. (journey around 2 hours)

Gatwick Airport : First Capital Connect (formerly Thameslink) trains run direct from Brighton via Gatwick to Bedford (journey around 2 hours)

Stansted Airport : Take a train to Tottenham Hale, London; then take the Underground to St Pancras International station and connect to First Capital Connect (formerly Thameslink) or Midland Mainline trains to Bedford Station. (journey around 2 hours).
